Prepare Design Scope Clarifications and Design Scope Clarification Reports by communicating with the work order originators and stakeholders
Extract existing drawings and conducting site surveys to determine existing conditions
Prepare electrical designs, specifications and CADD drawings using Microsoft Office, Bentley ProjectWise and MicroStation systems
Prepare the above per markups, sketches, and verbal instructions from Senior Engineer- Electrical
Prepare documents and drawings in other formats, such as PDF, as required
Perform duties as specified in Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Work Instructions to facilitate design delivery
Co-ordinate design with other design disciplines and trades as required
Assist the team in determining the requirements of Designated Substance Survey and Locate Reference drawings
Carry out assigned field reviews to ensure that construction is in general compliance with Issued for Construction documents, Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, and in accordance with the client requirements
Review shop drawings and materials submissions
Conduct independent studies and analysis of products, equipment, systems and resolving design problems and construction issues by applying relevant engineering principles and standard practices
Providing construction support and preparing site instructions
Review as-built markups provided by the trades, confirming the installations, and preparing as-built drawings
Survey the existing facilities and preparing single line diagrams
Responsible for treating passengers and/or employees with respect and dignity and ensuring the needs of passengers or employees with disabilities are accommodated and/or addressed (if applicable and within their area of responsibility) in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders so that they can fully benefit from the client as a service-provider and an employer
Evaluate applicable project schedules, construction agreements, and project scope documentation to ensure accurate and visible property delineation
Work with various CAD and GIS software and migrate to applicable formats
Develop drawings and translate them into the appliable coordinate system

Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD or related discipline
Technologist shall have at least three (3) years of experience working with MicroStation V8i
Technologists shall have at least seven (7) years of experience, in which at least four (4) years in engineering consulting environment
Education:
Technologists shall have bachelor's degree or above in the respective discipline
Licenses OR Certifications:
Certification in applicable technical area (AutoCAD, GIS, BIM, etc.)
Registered for and seeking recognized certification
Skills and Competencies:
Applicable experience working on infrastructure projects
In-depth understanding of tools and systems including:
MicroStation V8 Bentley
AutoCAD Civil 3D (including 3D models, profiles, alignments, design corridors and surfaces)
BIM collaboration tools (ProjectWise and BIM 360)
SketchUp, Bentley, and Adobe Creative Suite or similar
Proficient in reading and understanding plans, design sketches, and drawings
Ability to arrange priorities on multiple tasks and projects and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines
Equipped to work independently and as part of a team
Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
Experienced in summarizing and presenting technical information effectively
Capability to work in a collaborative team team-centric, structured, disciplined, and technology-driven environment
