Electrician Maintenance (Job ID: 7456)
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the incumbent works as part of the Engineering Services Team to operate and maintain electrical systems in a safe working order in accordance with Electrical Codes, CSA Standards and related legislated requirements.
- Repairs, maintains, tests and installs hospital electrical equipment, distribution systems, and systems components, appliances, and other equipment throughout the sites.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks and other general maintenance duties as required.
- Ability to work with team members to meet deadlines and solve problems under minimal supervision.
- Contributes to continuous quality improvement and service excellence.
- The incumbent interacts via pager, phone, and verbal and written work orders, with all departmental levels, contractors and internal customers.
- Must conform to all safety policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have an Ontario Certificate of Qualification-Electrician, Construction and Maintenance or Industrial.
- Minimum 5 years experience in electrical distribution systems, preferably in a unionized hospital environment.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately estimate and calculate material and equipment requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, team work and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of legislated safety requirements, codes, standards, and regulations.
- Experience with building automation and computerized maintenance systems preferred.
- Working knowledge of computers and software applications.
- Excellent attendance record.
