This is a Hybrid, Toronto based role, mandated to provide subject matter expertise through analytics, delivering meaningful insights that drive business results in alignment with overall group goals. Works with other data and analytics professionals to optimize, refine, automate and scale analysis into repeatable analytics solutions and decision support tools.

  • Gathers and analyzes data using technical data mining software such as SAS, Power BI or Python; formats Big Data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards; and highlights significant information regarding trends, opportunities and exposures.

  • Independently produces & summarizes statistical findings, draws business conclusions, and presents actionable business recommendations used in the management of risks and related activities (e.g. Customer insights and risk management strategies/tactics).

  • Builds various reporting dashboards using the most appropriate data extraction, data cleaning and data visualisation techniques.

  • Provides value through insights, reporting and data visualization techniques. Selects, configures and implements analytics solutions for consistency and repeatability.

  • Presents findings & recommendations in a simple, clear way to drive action.

  • Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service for scheduled reporting production processes.

  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.

  • Translates business needs to technical specifications and evaluates existing data visualization systems in order to improve them.

  • Develops data visualizations of "large" amounts of data that facilitate the intuitive presentation of data to decision makers.

  • Documents data flow, systems and processes to improve the design, implementation and management of business/group processes.

  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

Key Skills:

  • Experience developing SQL Queries to extract data

  • Extensive experience with data mining software/language such as SAS/SQL/Python

  • Data manipulation/aggregation/analysis in MS Excel

  • SSRS/Visual studio/Power BI experience for report building.

Salary:

$54,500.00 - $101,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
