We are excited to invite you to apply for an internship opportunity at LRI Engineering. This internship offers hands-on experience where you will build technical skills, develop your understanding of industry standards, and gain exposure to consulting practices in a collaborative environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct site visits under supervision. Review drawings and technical documentation.
  • Prepare professional emails, letters, and detailed reports to support project communication and documentation.
  • Assist to complete project deliverables and participate in developing training materials for clients.
  • Contribute to technical reviews and internal documentation, such as editing and creating training content.
  • Prepare engaging PowerPoint presentations for training modules.
  • Edit and develop Fire Warden Training templates and incorporate text-to-speech elements using tools such as Speechify.
  • Participate in conducting fire drills on clients’ sites, assist in preparing drill reports, and fire safety plan revisions.
  • Assist with on-site project activities including testing of fire protection systems and provide assistance in developing integrated testing plans and ensuring high-quality project outcomes.

Position Requirements

Education

You must be currently enrolled in one of the following post-secondary programs to qualify for the internship:

  • Architectural
  • Engineering
  • Fire Protection Engineering Technology
  • Fire Inspection and Fire Safety
  • Candidates must be returning to school in the following semester.

Experience

  • No previous experience is mandatory

Key Skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to apply critical thinking to technical and procedural challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive and collaborative relationships with individuals across the organization.
  • Excellent written communication skills,
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to evolving project needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role requiring presence at our offices in downtown Toronto to collaborate with team members, participate in meetings, and engage in project-related activities. We work from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Wages

This is a paid internship that offers a wage of $25 per hour.
