The Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBME) is a multidisciplinary research community where investigators across engineering, medicine and dentistry collaborate to develop innovative solutions that address global challenges in human health. Located in the heart of Canada's largest health-care research network, our faculty offer quality education to students who receive training in biomedical and clinical engineering. These highly experienced faculty have been involved in launching more than 20 start-up companies and driving three major biomedical engineering commercialization ventures. Our faculty and students routinely publish in top journals in the Nature, Cell and Advanced Materials family journals.
Your opportunity:
We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated team member to help move our projects from discovery to application. You will join a lively, dynamic, creative, dedicated and friendly group of ~12 undergraduate students, graduate students and post-docs within the Gilbert lab at the University of Toronto. The team investigates muscle stem cell mechanobiology and has developed skeletal muscle microphysiological technologies such as MEnDR, IDLE,MyoTACTIC for discovery and preclinical studies. You will have an opportunity to interact with all members of this creative team, helping to shape new research publications through technical help with experiments and supply ordering. You will report to the group leader, Professor Penney Gilbert.
