The Lead Manager, Commercial Logistics & Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing the sales activities of the commercial team, including Sales Managers and Sales Coordinators, across Central Canada to maintain and enhance client relationships, meet business objectives, and drive revenue growth. This role combines technical expertise in commercial sales with leadership responsibilities, ensuring alignment between the sales strategy and the company's overall logistics and supply chain objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with pricing, procurement, and operations teams to develop best-in-class proposals.
  • Ensure seamless communication among stakeholders to address issues, expedite work, and align business strategies.
  • Develop and implement DP World Canada Logistics strategies, including logistics parks, NVOCC/3rd Party Logistics, and short-sea shipping.
  • Support senior management with updates, insights, and recommendations on business impacts related to logistics projects.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the sales team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee CRM usage, ensuring accurate and timely data entry for all sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with pricing, procurement, and operations teams to develop competitive proposals and business strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, engaging in face-to-face interactions to drive sales growth.
  • Identify new business opportunities, assess their impact, and coordinate resources for implementation.
  • Analyze financial and market trends to identify trade opportunities, risks, and pricing strategies.
  • Lead training sessions on industry updates and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide senior management with strategic updates, insights, and recommendations on logistics projects.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Degree in business, freight forwarding or a similar field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' related freight forwarding experience and a minimum of 2 years' sales experience with proven hunting skills.
  • Experience in freight forwarding operations is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience with proven leadership skills to develop and motivate a team.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a high-volume setting.
  • Exceptional technical skills and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • A willingness to take the initiative to solve problems and a desire to identify process improvements.
  • Ability to communicate clear and concise information in an accurate and informative manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships both with and among team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with your team and other departments.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
