Role Purpose

The Manager, Commercial Logistics and Supply Chain is responsible to develop and sell the DP World Logistic Service across Canada. This includes adding value to customers and supporting the Port and Terminal businesses. Also, directing the execution of the trading strategy for each of the Canada business units.

This position is based in Toronto, Ontario.

About the Role

  • Develop plans to implement DP world Canada Logistics strategy, including logistic parks, NVOCC/3rd Party Logistics, short sea shipping and the complete DP World Logistics product offering.
  • Engage with cargo owners to ensure strong relationship management in coordination with the Commercial team; focusing on face-to-face customer interactions.
  • Discover new business operations, analyze the contribution to our business and coordinate the resources required to implement new services, as required.
  • Assess financial and economic issues to identify trade opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with senior management by providing updates and solutions on areas related to the business impact of projects.
  • Assist with pricing structure and financial models of the different services of DP World Logistics Services to assess the future profitability of business opportunities.

About You

  • Degree in business, commerce or a related field with knowledge of economics and quantitative analysis.
  • Minimum 5 years of general management experience from another 3PL with NVOCC license is an asset.
  • Successful management of all key stakeholder relationships including shareholders and external government agencies.
  • High level analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
  • Proven business acumen and experience with managing and understanding complex commercial contracts.
  • Strong commitment to client service excellence with the ability to build solid relationships.
  • Knowledge of statistics, analysis of macro-economic trends affecting the business, business metrics and financial basics.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and conduct formal presentations.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning processes with the ability to develop short and long term project planning and manage the financial costs of projects
  • Fluent in English.
  • Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries.
