McCain's corporate development and strategy agenda continues to expand, and we are looking for a Manager, Corporate Development & Strategy (CD&S) to join our team. In this role, the Manager will report into the VP, Corporate Development and Strategy and will primarily focus on the Global M&A Platform and our Strategic Investments Portfolio, playing a key role in evaluating and executing opportunities, and contributing toward shaping our global strategy.

As the world leader in frozen potato products with an ambition to continue growing, McCain Foods Ltd. has a dynamic Corporate Development & Strategy team with a history of activity in international acquisitions and divestitures and has made a series of non-controlling equity investments in early-stage venture businesses. To support this, the Manager will work across initiatives globally, including, but not limited to: evaluating new acquisition/growth opportunities, formulating business cases, partnering with regions / functions on strategic questions, supporting key diligence work streams, assisting with governance and decision making of Strategic Investment Portfolio companies, planning and executing global strategy initiatives, and synthesizing market trends into insights to inform our strategic direction.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the evaluation of new acquisition/growth opportunities and the development of investment theses and business case formulation.
  • In partnership with other CD&S team members, develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks and conduct analyses to identify and deconstruct global business decisions.
  • Develop operational and financial models and prepare various analyses to aid decision making.
  • Support throughout the M&A/investment process, including project management, diligence, presentations and post-merger integration.
  • In collaboration with regional and functional teams, support the development and evaluation of strategic plans for the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Directors.
  • Perform industry research and develop views on sector, segment, and companies of strategic interest to McCain and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Prepare "executive ready" presentation materials and deliverables for review with the executive team and the Board.
  • Liaise with internal business managers and external advisors and consultants - investment bankers, management consultants, lawyers and accountants.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant undergraduate degree required
  • 2-5+ years' of relevant post-graduate work experience (strong preference for experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance)
  • Strong analytical skills, preferably with experience in building complex strategic, valuation and transactional models
  • Detail oriented with ability to take ownership of key analyses and workstreams independently
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues and data into insights
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a rapidly evolving business landscape
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and teams
  • Creative and inquisitive problem-solver
  • Positive, collaborative, and influential relationship builder
  • Ability to travel as needed

Compensation Package: $97,500.00 - $130,000.00 CAD annually + bonus eligibility

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
