Role Description

The Energy & Sustainability Manager is an integral member of a highly collaborative team, working towards QuadReal's mandate to be a global sustainability leader. This position will support QuadReal's sustainability strategy across the company including the US portfolio.

The Energy & Sustainability Manager will work directly with many QuadReal teams and external property managers to review and analyze asset level energy and water consumption, with a focus on reducing the portfolio's carbon emissions, reporting and achieving green certifications. This individual will have a passion for mitigating climate change, broad experience in sustainability in the built environment, and a strong desire to support QuadReal on its Net Zero journey. They will thrive in a fast-paced environment collaborating across many teams and projects with a willingness to coach junior team members and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead US portfolio ESG reporting and support with QuadReal's centralized ESG reporting, including GRESB, UNPRI, SASB, and TCFD.
  • Work with QuadReal's proprietary energy management software to track property performance and model low carbon retrofit pathways
  • Support properties with physical climate resilience assessments and the integration of climate risk data into property and asset management functions.
  • Lead project management for roof-top solar deployments across select IPP assets and new developments in core markets.
  • Lead the expansion of QuadReal's BOMA BEST portfolio program to the company's US portfolio
  • Facilitate training sessions to educate property teams on QuadReal's environmental management systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and tenant engagement program in support of green certifications
  • Perform any additional duties and assignments as required

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability and analytics, along with knowledge of utility data.
  • Experience managing data and processes in an EMS (Energy Management System) is an asset
  • Master's degree in a related discipline, such as environmental management, science, business or engineering. Alternatively, a registered professional engineer or engineering technologist or Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Word, Powerpoint and other databases
  • Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships and adapt to different communication styles (writing reports, budgets and business cases)
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
