What You Will Do

Reporting to the Manager, Track & Structure Maintenance Engineering, the incumbent is responsible for the daily operations of all material and procurement related activities for the Maintenance Engineering section. This includes overseeing the entire Supply Chain Management process including the management of materials, equipment, budgets, and appropriate staffing to meet project deadlines. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying and analysing new maintenance initiatives to determine the materials, service and labour requirement, and ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

• Your application will demonstrate sound knowledge of materials procurement management and materials handling principles;
• Your application will also demonstrate Knowledge of methods and practices relating to the ordering, receiving, issuing, storing and management of equipment and materials;
• Your educational background includes a post-secondary school (Community College/University Degree) in Business Administration or equivalent is integral and will contribute to the success in this role;
• Having completed courses in material management principles would be an asset;
• Having experience in advanced budgeting principles, and proficiency in applying same to the operations of Materials Management;
• Being familiar with various engineering design disciplines, and construction related practices, codes, standards, regulations and project management concepts will contribute to your access in this role;
• Familiarity with union and trade agreements and contraction contracts;
• Comprehensive knowledge of business administration, fiscal and human relations concepts/practices;
• Good understanding of pertinent human resources policies and legislation/regulations regarding safety, employment, human rights;
• Sound judgement; strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving skills, oral and written communication skills, with ability to manage change effectively;
• Proficient in the use of a personal computer, and computer software and applications related to the work (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
