Could you be the full-time hybrid N&T Network Engineer in Toronto, ON, CA we're looking for?


Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your extensive networking and telecommunications expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and collaborative teammates. You'll contribute to the seamless integration and operation of complex radio and TCP/IP networks, impacting the way we connect systems and enhance communication on a grand scale. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (including design, engineering, and commissioning), create and maintain critical documentation, and much more.

We'll look to you for:

  • Utilizing system requirements to design and deploy networks and virtual solutions using network components,
  • Creating and maintaining documentation including System Functional Specifications, Architecture Design description, and Interface Control Documents,
  • Working as part of the Backbone Communication Network team and assisting the Lead System Designer as needed,
  • Performing Communications Engineering tasks in support of program objectives,
  • Using traffic generator and network management tools to design a system that meets network performance, management, and monitoring objectives,
  • Performing capacity analysis for Communication Networks,
  • Understanding and interpreting system and contract requirements and generating subsystem-level requirements using DOORS,
  • Documenting technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures,
  • Conducting network maintenance and troubleshooting,
  • Ensuring documents are delivered as per project Documentation plan in line with project Development For Quality Gate Reviews milestones
  • Participating in network and radio design implementation activities
  • Participating to Installation and Test & Commissioning activities as well as network maintenance activities remote and in the field


All about you

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in networking or telecommunication,
  • Experience or understanding of designing, implementing, and operating telecommunications networks,
  • CCNA/CCNP certifications and CCDE/CCIE is preferred

Competencies & Skills

  • Hands-on experience with routing and switching for core networks and backhauls
  • Knowledge network security and policies, Cybersecurity principles, technologies, and solutions
  • Proficiency in IP, QoS, MPLS
  • Proven experience with monitoring tools, traffic analysis, and general IP techniques
  • Knowledge of virtualization concepts
  • Knowledge of experience in railway industry is a plus
