Position Summary
Postdoctoral positions are available in Professor Hakem's laboratory at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, part of the University Health Network in Toronto, Canada. Our research team is committed to exploring innovative mechanisms of cancer and identifying therapeutic vulnerabilities to develop treatments for aggressive cancers.
Professor Hakem's research program focuses on several pivotal domains: cancer genetics, DNA damage repair, genome-wide CRISPR-Cas9 screening, biochemistry, transcriptomics, epigenetics, chromatin remodeling, pharmacogenomics, and multi-omics integration. The program employs various methodologies to inform our studies, including mouse models, patient-derived xenografts, patient-derived organoids, and publicly available cancer databases, such as The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Through applying systems biology, interdisciplinary approaches, and robust collaborations with scientists, clinicians, pathologists, medicinal chemists, and computational biologists, our objective is to advance therapeutic options for patients with cancer https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5948-7931.
Our laboratory has a distinguished history of investigating cancer mechanisms and related signalling pathways.
