The Procurement Coordinator for Extrusion is responsible for ensuring that Extrusion specifications are properly sourced, vetted, delivered on time, and installed with the correct methodology within Flynn's unitized curtain wall manufacturing facility. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in production. The Procurement Coordinator for Extrusion works closely with the manufacturing teams to ensure seamless coordination with project management throughout the project life cycle. This detail-oriented role emphasizes upstream quality control and meticulous attention to material specifications, schedule adherence, and the procurement processes. This role requires monitoring production material procurement and ensuring on time delivery of the right products in the right sequence.

A Day in the Life:

Material Sourcing and Vetting:
-Be involved at project kick-off with a detailed understanding of the required materials outlined in the estimate (quantities, vendors, specifications).
-Ensure that all materials meet the required specifications and quality standards before procurement.
-Ensure proper quantities and lead times are respected when ordering material Collaborate with the procurement team to vet suppliers and materials.
-Work with Project Managers to review, monitor and proactively resolve any scheduling conflicts that may affect the timely procurement of materials.
-Maintain detailed records of material specifications and procurement activities.
-Ensure product samples are collected, itemized, and reviewed and signed off before purchase.
-Vet routing and freight options to ensure on time delivery.
Quality Control:
-Implement stringent upstream quality control measures to ensure specifications meet project requirements.
-In collaboration with the MFG QC team, review inspections of incoming materials and address any damages or discrepancies promptly.
-Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions with suppliers.
-Work within the procurement team to resolve any material-related issues.
Supply Chain and Procurement:
-Ensure the timely procurement of materials.
-Vet purchases and ensure they meet project specifications.
-Maintain detailed records of product specifications, samples, and procurement activities.
-Work with project management team to align the procurement schedule with manufacturing and project timelines
-Ensure budgets are in line with estimates and flag economies that may be beneficial for the project management team.
-Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team for timely replenishment.
-Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers of Extrusion products to ensure the best quality and pricing.
-Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable deals for Extrusion materials.
-Manage purchase orders, ensure timely delivery, and handle any issues that arise with Extrusion product orders.
-Implement strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency in the procurement of Extrusion materials.
-Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty.
-Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for new Extrusion products or improvements.
Coordination with Stakeholders:
-Act as a liaison with vendors to ensure they are adhering to quality standards and providing documentation of product quality before shipment.
-Collaborate closely with the drafting department and project management to ensure material specifications align with design requirements.
-Work with project management and the project control manager to align material procurement with project timelines and budgets.
-Coordinate with the manufacturing team to ensure materials are applied correctly and efficiently as per product specifications.
Process Improvement:
-Identify areas for process improvement in material sourcing and application.
-Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and quality in material management.
-Conduct root cause analysis of material-related issues and develop solutions.

Data Analysis and Reporting:
-Collect and analyze data related to material sourcing, quality, and application.
-Prepare regular reports on material status, quality, and procurement activities.
-Use data insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Safety and Compliance:
-Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations with regards to material being procured.

What You Bring:
-Must have 3-5-year experience e in extrusion industry
-Must have minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inside sales or order entry in the extrusion industry
-Post secondary degree
-Strong understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes.
-Excellent organizational and planning skills.
-Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
-Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting.
