We are responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Within CO+I, the strategic Supply Chain team is responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing growth of the Microsoft Cloud and our customers. We support a portfolio of complex, multidisciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter construction and operations of those assets. We are looking to fill a critical role of Procurement Manager - Toronto.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 6+ years experience (including internships) in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations
    • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 5+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations
    • OR equivalent experience

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 8+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations

    • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 7+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • Hyperscale data center or large building construction experience in an owner or general contractor capacity
  • Knowledge of data center industry and experience managing a variety of project delivery methods - ability to lead a project team in defining risk and developing the appropriate contracting.
  • Drive to deliver for results in midst of ambiguity and matrixed org.
  • Technical ability to write contracts, ability to set up sourcing plans and negotiation strategies and execute them.
  • Effective communicator that can interact with diverse groups across organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with common process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six-Sigma, etc.) and ability to facilitate change management.
  • Ability to leverage and implement new processes and get buy in from a cross-functional team.
  • Understanding of sourcing strategy and supply chain execution for long lead items across multiple categories.
  • Ability to integrate successfully into large-scale construction projects - large dollar contracts of over $50 Million.

Sourcing and Category Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $121,800 - CAD $219,100 per year.

Responsibilities

The role is responsible for partnering with the broader Global Supply Chain teams including Planning & Analytics, Procurement, Construction Execution, Supplier Quality and overall Special Projects team to meet the on-time delivery for a large, complex capital project. This role will drive towards the support of acceptance, installation, and commissioning of the OFCI (Owner Furnished Contractor Installed) Equipment at the Construction site in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.

Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates should relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

Field Service Representative or Technician/Engineer Management:

  • Manage and oversee OFCI Supplier labor management in coordination with General Contractor, Scheduling Teams, and Internal Planning Teams to align schedules and deliverables.
  • Manage schedule compliance and escalations from field team to support installation and activities as required to drive efficiencies between OFCI Supplier and General Contractor
  • Negotiate and manage any change orders for overtime, schedule compression and acceleration as needed.

Change Order Management:

  • Lead Change Order after CDEs (Comply, Deviation, Exception) & Tech Submittals are complete with Suppliers after the OFCI is delivered at the construction site.
  • Monitor and mitigate the impact of change orders to the project, and partners cross-functionally to resolve/escalate accordingly.
  • Attend management meetings after delivery to ensure any change orders for additional equipment are executed promptly.
  • Act as the commercial Subject-Matter Expert and prescribe the appropriate entitlement and justification for all change orders.
  • Negotiate claims with detailed understanding of the contractual conditions of the General contract and the OFCI Contract, and partner with Regional claims to settle or escalate.

OFCI Management & Quality Assurance:

  • Help facilitate the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing)/OFCI equipment once delivered to site, including inspections and appropriate sign-offs.
  • Manage the receiving process of supplier equipment on site and supplier response time to defect resolution in relation to quality issues.
  • Align and maintain design changes post IFC (Issued for Construction) if needed to support design changes and costs associated with procurement and engineering teams to ensure alignment with stakeholders to drive resolution.
  • Deliver and coordinate project design information, specifications, compliance documents and technical submittals (master & project level design alignment)
  • Collaborate with the stakeholders wherever storage solutions are required.

Supplier Engagement & Performance:

  • Manage post award site delivery scheduling, on-time delivery performance, and reporting.
  • Communicate scheduling delays from OFCI/LLE (Long-Lead Equipment) equipment to relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee site specific LLE performance and collaborate with both internal and external partners to proactively resolve issues.
  • Manage technical risk management of design including timelines, and service level agreements to avoid disruption to site timelines.
  • Acts as liaison between Supplier, Engineer On Record(EOR), Architectural Engineer (AE), engineering and supply chain teams to execute complex post award design alignment between suppliers and Microsoft.
  • Manage the stakeholder reporting on a weekly basis or monthly basis
