In this role, you will work on a wide variety of projects and provide high-quality certification services to meet clients' needs. This means you will have the ability to interpret standards, make technical decisions based on theoretical engineering knowledge and practical experiences, analyze and facilitate the execution of product testing, and ensure overall product compliance with CSA and other approved international regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the certification of fuel-burning appliances and equipment to various national and international standards.
Independently manage multiple certification projects concurrently, while ensuring high-quality deliverables within assigned timelines and budget.
Use a variety of operating procedures, divisional quality guidelines, and engineering techniques for problem solving and responding to client's enquiries.
Develop or review test plans for product evaluation and assessment before approval for circulation in the marketplace for public use.
Provide technical support to CSA's business unit in developing and expanding certification services for the Gas Appliances product line.
Prepares certification reports, Certificate of Compliance, and other related CSA documentation.
Conduct on-site audits of manufacturing and operating client facilities, which may involve foreign travel.
Interface with customers, and collaborate with other engineers and laboratory technicians on related certification activities.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologist/Technician diploma with 5 years job related technical experience and/or Gas Appliance certification or;
Certified Engineering Technologist/Technician, Licensed Trades with 7 years of industry experience.
Knowledge of ISO 17025/17065 and experience with some gas certification standards is considered an asset.
