Job Purpose:

The Production Coordinator will ensure accurate and sustainable planning of the manufacturing process. Prepare work and production schedules and monitor the progress of production. This person will assist to provide a means of communication between all departments within the organization to ensure client projects are executed as per specifications, on-time and on budget.

What does Success Look Like:

  • Mastery of the Work Orders module in ProShop ERP, with specific understanding on correct production process flows, bill of materials management, and generating demand for procurement.
  • Ability to create accurate project plans such that production follows plan accordingly and supports on-time delivery.

Education

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2years

Responsabilities:

Tasks

Compile orders and instructions received from customers

Develop specific plans to prioritize

Organize tasks to accomplish the work

Oversee operational logistics of the organization

Plan and organize operational logistics of the organization

Track and complete work orders

Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments

Monitor movement of supplies and materials between departments

Perform routine clerical duties

Read blueprints, written specifications and production drawings

Prepare and submit reports

Ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery

Maintain work records and logs

Monitor personnel workloads and locations

Perform general office duties

Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality

Co-ordinate traffic flow of supplies

Compile worksheets and specifications of orders

Consult with production supervisor to schedule production runs in a cost and time-efficient manner

Estimate type and quantity of materials and labour required for production, construction and other projects

Monitor production progress

Prepare and maintain progress and other reports

Follow-up on issues with work orders

Organize and maintain inventory

Ensure quality and safety standards are met in our day to day working environment

  • Consistently confirm paperwork is completed as necessary
  • Follow ISO 9001 and AS 9100 procedures accordingly
  • Adhere to top notch safety standards and contribute to the supervision of all employees in this regard.

Assist with other shop projects, duties and responsibilities as needed.

 Need to have:

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree in business or supply chain management and/or 3+ years minimum manufacturing , supply chain and quality systems experience
  • Strong knowledge of key materials in composite manufacturing, planning techniques, material requirements planning (MRP), and manufacturing operations
  • Exemplary organization, planning and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize daily workload
  • High level of proficiency in both verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.

 Nice to have:

  • Experience with AS/ISO Quality Systems as applied to composites manufacturing.

Working conditions

PCI promotes a safe and clean working environment that meets or exceeds standards prescribed by the Ministry of Labour (Ontario). Work will be conducted indoors in our manufacturing shop. Personal protective equipment will be necessary when operating on the shop floor including safety shoes (CSA Green Triangle) and safety glasses.  Respiratory protection, hearing protection, appropriate gloves and work suits will be mandatory as required if working on the floor in the dirty room or paint booth.
