Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Project Coordinator to join our team!


What You Will Do

  • You will be responsible to prepare various preliminary project cost calculation estimates based on vehicle fleet plan scenarios being considered by TTC management.
  • You will investigate new technologies and vehicle related products, and sub-components based on vehicle manufacturer recommendations, sub-supplier reports of new and improved product availability and the reported corporate needs from representatives of various TTC departments.
  • You will represent the TTC to conduct business with various levels of management and personnel representing the vehicle manufacturer and their sub-suppliers.
  • You will evaluate, negotiate (within the scope of the contract) and decide on proposed changes to vehicle design features, specifications, production issues and deliverables and scheduling.
  • You will also develop and prepare vehicle inspection check lists; configuration audit check lists and pre-departure check lists
  • You will research and supply required information with regards to vehicle and component design, inspection, and operation.
  • You will co-ordinate, record and track the purchase and supply of parts that are required for the projects
  • You will design and construct test apparatus and/or procedures required to determine whether specific contract requirements are met.
  • You will prepare test procedures and reporting conclusions along with making any recommendations based on the results.
  • Additionally, you will Investigate various manufacturing or vehicle design related technical issues and providing practical, cost-effective solutions in a clear, detailed manner through verbal and/or written instructions, sketches, drawings, etc.
  • You will also prepare various detailed tracking sheets to allow for claim of rebates, delivery shortages and replacement of TTC issue parts, etc.
  • You will facilitate site meetings and coordinating all required construction works of carhouses and shops for the operation and maintenance of the vehicles.
  • You will also design engineered solutions to vehicle problems and deficiencies.

What Qualifications Do You Bring

  • Your education will consist of a university degree or college diploma in a related discipline along with related experience, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Your application will reveal comprehensive knowledge of transit rail vehicle engineering, design, manufacturing principles, methods, procedures and quality control processes supported by the ability to prepare detailed technical specifications.
  • Your application will reveal good knowledge of project management theory and practices.
  • Your application will reveal knowledge of legislations pertaining to vehicle equipment, labour, safety and environmental issues and carhouse and shop operations.
  • Your application will reveal proficiency in the use of computers and relevant software applications.
  • Your application will also reveal well-developed supervisory, organizational, interpersonal, and budget/costing skills with demonstrated ability to plan, assign and co-ordinate activities of others including TTC and contracted employees
  • You must have a personal automobile available for use to facilitate travel to attend meetings, inspect vehicles and/or facilities and to allow for prompt response to in-town issues and occurrences.
