The Audio-Visual Project Manager role at Paladin is a position created to oversee our more complex projects. These jobs include projects with significant project value or projects involving two or more departments. You will have control over assigned projects and will manage each project from initiation to closeout. This position is based in Toronto, but depending on operational needs, you may have to travel throughout the surrounding area.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and supervise AV installations, ensuring all work is completed to high standards.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within scope and on budget.
  • Create and manage change orders along with MAC estimates.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians, project coordinators and subcontractors, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to complete their tasks.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to track progress and address any issues or challenges.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and ensure their vision is realized through the project.
  • Ensure all installations meet industry standards and client specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to guarantee the highest level of workmanship.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, progress reports, and change orders.
  • Provide detailed reports to senior management on project performance and outcomes.
  • Ensure the project budget is managed and the customer's format and language requirements are followed accurately and promptly.
  • Coordinate and/or provide training to clients.
  • Coordinate the project's turnover to the service department at the end of each project.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES: In accordance with applicable Company policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, will perform the following supervisory responsibilities: planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5 - 8 years of Audio-Visual Project Management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of Structured cabling Project Management experience
  • Experience working with Crestron, Biamp, QSC, Crown and other AV manufacturers.
  • High-level of understanding AV systems and ability to troubleshoot is required.
  • Additional industry certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in CCTV and Access Control Project Management
  • PMP certification or an approved application from PMI
  • CTS or CTS-I (Certified Technical Specialist)

  • Ability to remain calm and use sound judgment when addressing potentially volatile issues.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical or other project-related issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, and Microsoft Visio/AutoCAD/DTools viewing.
  • Ability to read and comprehend project technical documents, including, but not limited to, engineering and architectural drawings, schedules, test reports, and commissioning documents.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (ie see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment
  • Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)
WORKING CONDITIONS: In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • Will be required to be on site with customers or contractors, with or without Paladin colleagues to manage the expectations and deliverables. Sites range from general office environments to new construction.
  • Driving to customer sites is required
