BSS is now looking for a Senior Director, Technology to oversee the critical functions of school-wide data analytics, IT infrastructure, and cybersecurity. This leadership role ensures alignment between the school's strategic goals and its technology and data initiatives, driving innovation while maintaining robust operational support. 

As the Senior Director you will:

  • Create and communicate a strategic vision on technology innovation and digital transformation strategy that best contribute to the School’s Strategic goals, including policies, strategies and best practices to execute on that vision.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, educators, administrators, and students to identify and prioritize technology systems and data needs and develop initiatives that drive organizational improvement and innovation.
  • Manage the Technology Operating and Capital and project plans / budget
  • Ensure alignment between data analytics, IT operations, and cybersecurity to provide seamless support for the school’s academic and administrative functions.
  • Address unexpected technology challenges swiftly, such as outages or security breaches.
  • Lead the vendor selection processes for the school wide purchase of technology and related services and negotiates and manages contracts with those vendors.,
  • Oversee the Director, IT and Cybersecurity to ensure a comprehensive cybersecurity program aligned with school goals and regulatory requirements to protect school information assets, network and systems which includes metrics for proven growth is in place and functioning well.
  • Oversee the Director, School Data and Analytics to ensure a Data Governance plan that includes but not limited to a privacy management program, database permission frameworks, and security and privacy impact assessments is in place and functioning well.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive people management experience leading IT professionals. 
  • Direct experience with ITSM, Project Management, Application Delivery, Technical or business systems architecture.
  • Demonstrated solid understanding of key business and technology disciplines including strategy, governance, ITSM, Infrastructure, cyber security, risk management and Canadian Privacy legislation. 
  • Knowledge of business requirements related to educational institution project management, procurement, and collaboration.
