What You Will Do

Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Engineering Services, you will be responsible for providing engineering expertise in support of track projects, condition surveys, material selection and procurement defect assessments, as well as the development of track maintenance standards. This will include: managing the development and review of new/existing track component designs; developing detailed maintenance standards and procedures, developing comprehensive testing programs; diagnosing complex engineering problems, and providing technical input for track related operating issues. You will also be responsible for developing all required scope and/or changes to contracts, projects and programs to accommodate assigned work.

You will also be providing engineering support, supervision and oversight to assigned staff; and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating day to day activities related to quality assurance, compliance and system requirements for subway track.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • You are a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (PEO).
  • It would be an asset if you are registered with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Your educational background includes a University degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • You have knowledge in engineering principles, methods and practices related to design of track, track related structures and associated right-of-way.
  • Your application demonstrates that you have the ability to plan and coordinate the work of others when overseeing the development of new track components and standards.
  • You are analytical and a problem solver while being a great verbal communicator with the ability to write technical reports.
  • Your application demonstrates that you are computer literate and proficient in the use of general engineering software.
