What You Will Do

Prepares conceptual and final engineering designs for the maintenance, alteration, repair, rehabilitation and/or construction of TTC structures and/or facilities. The role oversees, directs, coordinates and reviews the work of assigned staff and outside consultants as required, oversees and supervises the production of Design Drawings and Specifications, and oversees and performs field reviews and drawing reviews. The role may also manage and coordinate projects, represent the section on development reviews, and/or assist with the day-to-day operation of the section. The incumbent demonstrates behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment and helps to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC's commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC's policies. Participates in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

• Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, supported by a University Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering combined with several years of related experience in a geotechnical environment in Toronto or in a location with subsurface soils and geology similar to the GTA.
• Experience in construction materials testing, geotechnical laboratory testing, impacted soil/groundwater management, and construction vibration is a definite asset.
• Valid class "G" driver's licence for the Province of Ontario and use of own vehicle.
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Environmental Protection Act, and other relevant Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks policies and regulations.
