Job Description


The Senior Exploration Geologist will contribute and take part in the planning and execution of various exploration programs throughout Canada. The role will include overseeing property scale programs, developing complex geological models and project generation while ensuring that the environment and health and safety standards of the corporation are strictly adhered to. The candidate must be willing to travel to various project sites when required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee property scale programs through active participation in planning, preparation and implementation for both surface (field) and drill programs.
  • Assist in budget preparation for each program and ensure all programs are kept in budget during operation.
  • Analyze and interpret geological information to develop geological models for a variety of projects.
  • Maintain the quality and integrity of the geological databases.
  • Implement and monitor each program's QAQC protocols.
  • Assist in researching and compiling data for project generation.
  • Reinforces company operating standards, compliance requirements and policies.
  • Analyze information and prepare technical documents and presentations to support decision making processes.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate University degree in Geology or related Earth Science.
  • Formal professional registration or eligible to apply for such designation.
  • 8 or more years of related work experience in the mining and mineral exploration industry.
  • Geological and resource modeling experience is considered an asset.

Additional Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to work with others
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, able to work with minimum of supervision
  • Ability to travel to various locations when required
  • Solid working knowledge of industry 3D software such as Leapfrog, Datamine, Micromine or Vulcan, GIS software such as MapInfo, QGIS or ArcGIS as well as the Microsoft Office Suite of programs
