Reporting to the Director, Strategic Initiatives, the Senior Manager provides support for Strategic & Business Investments within the International Banking Portfolio Management Office (IB PMO). As part of the Office of the IB Chief Operating Officer, the incumbent is responsible to support that the goals, plans, and execution of the initiatives in the IB Project Portfolio are aligned to the Bank's strategy, and approved following Bank-defined Enterprise Delivery Framework, Policies and Standards. As part of a multi-country Portfolio Management unit, the team focuses on Business Case Reviews for investments benefitting the Bank's international footprint across Latin America and the Caribbean, ensuring strategy alignment throughout International Banking.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Support International Banking's multi-country portfolio of strategic projects and initiatives by acting as an SME to lead business case reviews, liaising between stakeholders to ensure investments are approved following the Enterprise Delivery Framework.
  • Conduct thorough business analysis to articulate clear scope, strategy alignment and insights from business case reviews of IB Initiatives, to facilitate and inform decisions from Key Executives within International Banking (including Rebaselines and Post-Implementation Reviews) in collaboration with IB Finance.
  • Understand financial cost/benefit analysis principles and cost capitalization accounting guidelines, to participate on financial impact assessments.
  • Support governance of pipeline of investment-related requests to ensure key targets are met for execution timelines and portfolio metrics.
  • Support the Director in the Annual Planning of the IB Project Portfolio, by coordinating with business line and corporate functions teams across International Banking, to ensure key investments to execute the strategy are planned for, challenged, and properly recorded in CA PPM.
  • Coordinate and provide support to key stakeholders in International Banking, primarily through direct interactions with business lines and corporate functions teams on the end-to-end investment approval and execution governance.
  • Actively identify and address change requirements and improvement opportunities for processes and initiatives to improve IB's project portfolio performance and governance.
  • Contribute to a high-performance environment and support the team in promoting engagement and fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Develop day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
  • Communicate the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout the team.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient planning and execution of the IB Projects Portfolio, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting or Engineering.
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant experience (strategy, project management, business investment analysis, business case review).
  • Candidate must have the ability to communicate in both English and Spanish as they will supporting teams in both languages.
  • Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal for interacting with stakeholders with varying cross cultural and language differences.
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships across the Bank, partners and build strategic relations with a customer focus.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills combined with outstanding business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with other teams and executives.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • MBA or equivalent is an asset.
  • Experience with CA PPM and PeopleSoft tools is an asset.
