Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Engineering Services, this position is responsible for the GIS mapping, surveying, CADD and related technical support of all subway and subway-related infrastructure. The incumbent defines standards and best practices for the mapping; directs, instructs, supervises and evaluates the work of both professional and technical staff, consultants and contractors in the preparation of specifications for related contract documents; performs field surveys, data calculations and analysis and CADD drafting; conducts investigations and studies; plans, manages and coordinates projects; maintains surveying and mapping records; takes professional responsibility for work as required by the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors under the Surveyors Act of Ontario; assists with the day to day management and supervision of survey work as required.
