An incredible opportunity to support our Track & Structures at the track level of our system.
This posting is for current and upcoming opportunities which may involve working night shifts with Thursday/Friday or Sunday/Monday as off days and various work reporting locations (Davisville Yard or Wilson Yard), which may vary as directed by work assignments.
This is varied and routine construction, maintenance, reconstruction and repair work performed on bridge structures, tunnel structures, elevated guideways, retaining walls, slabs etc. The Structure Repairperson will perform maintenance, reconstruction and repair work such as assisting Structure Mechanics in such tasks as site and material preparation, core drilling, chemical injection grouting, external soil grouting, caulking and sealing, applying leak remediation materials, constructing leak control devices, structural steel repairs, concrete repairs, concrete placement and finishing.
The work may also involve the cleaning of track supporting subway structures and stations, wet blasting and abrasive blast cleaning; applying protective material on corroded rebar; performing vehicle and equipment service checks; performing snow removal duties such as shoveling and sweeping at surface and track level, including the removal of snow and/or ice from track components and switches, operating a snow blower, salt spreading, etc. as directed; and the operating of trucks, forklift, and bucket and scissor lift, etc. as required; collecting refuse from related work sites and fueling vehicles and equipment as required; cleaning the subway and yard ROW including biohazards and sharps, partake in structure maintenance drainage operations, type 1 asbestos abatement and type 2 asbestos clean-up and MMMF removal as required.
