We currently have an opening for an Electrical Project Coordinator in Vaughan.

The mission of an Electrical Project Coordinator is to work closely with the Project Manager and provide support. The Project Coordinators is responsible for budget entry and costing, submittals, purchase orders, site documentation and O&M manuals. They are also responsible for information such as: RFI, CCNs and shop drawings as the projects progresses and ensuring with follow up that paperwork is delivered or posted to jobsite and foreman.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aid the project managers in obtaining shop drawings from manufacturers, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Preparation and logging of shop drawings for issue to the general contractor/owner and engineers. Follow up and distribution of the approved shop drawings back to the manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors and field staff.
  • Preparation of the O & M manuals, along with obtaining the information from the suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors.
  • Management and distribution of all project related documents and drawings to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Budget entry and set up in Timberline/accounting system.
  • The following data systems entries:
  • Completion of project CCDCs as part of project close out.
  • Entry of change orders and distribution of change notices/orders to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Applies the SMaC Recipe to daily tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of (electrical) project coordination experience within construction industry required
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry, particularly field work would be a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office including: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with project or construction management software is an asset. (Eg: Procore)
  • Attention to detail, strong reading as well as writing skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships with employees, subcontractors and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Sense of urgency and drive to succeed. Must be comfortable working within a deadline driven, fast paced environment.
  • Resourceful, problem-solver that is energetic and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to work in an office and field environment and maintain excellent working relationships with others.
  • Comfort and ability to work on site.
  • A vehicle is required as the successful candidate may be required to drive to various job sites.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
