Senior Estimator, Low Rise - Empire Communities

The Senior Estimator will support the Low-Rise Procurement department by performing various tasks including costing, budgeting, quantity takeoffs, and other measurement exercises as needed.

This role is located at our Empire Canada Head Office in Vaughan, ON.

What We Are Looking For:

• 5+ years in estimating within the construction industry
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD), Microsoft Office Suite, and construction management software.
• Balanced background in both construction and purchasing an asset
• Skilled in interpreting construction drawings and other technical documents used in residential construction.
• Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates and budgets.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively multi-task with strong organizational and time management skills.
• (CCA) Gold Seal Certification or Professional Quantity Surveyor designation is a plus

What You'll Be Doing Each Day

• Conduct material takeoffs from plans and drawings to determine the quantities of labour and materials required for each project.
• Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiate pricing, and ensure the inclusion of all necessary costs in the final estimate.
• Establish cost monitoring and reporting by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends to support leadership on business decisions.
• Support the Procurement Team with various requests and assist with occasional cost-benefit analysis as required.
• Visit low-rise construction job sites to identify opportunities to reduce cost, increase quality, and enhance scopes of work to support internal construction teams and trade partners.
• Continually updates technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
