We are looking for a Production Supervisor to join our Coatings team in Windsor, ON.

BASF's Coatings division offers innovative and ecologically viable solutions for the automotive industry, including both the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and refinish markets, as well as surface treatment solutions for a variety of markets.

This position is accountable for the work of the hourly employees in meeting the objective of a safe, efficient and timely production of quality products in an environment of changing customer demands. By leadership and example, train and educate employees regarding health and safety, job methods, waste minimization, commitment to excellence and job performance. The position is responsible for recording pertinent production and accident statistics.

As a Production Supervisor, you create chemistry by...

  • Rotating on a shift basis in the paint manufacturing department to ensure operational continuity.
  • Producing quality products efficiently and safely, adhering to established standards.
  • Training, retraining, and instructing employees in all aspects of their roles to enhance performance and compliance.
  • Maintaining proper housekeeping, continuously upgrading standards, and maintaining production statistics.
  • Administering the collective agreement and participating in revisions of Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.s) and Job Task Analysis (T.J.A.s).
  • Assuming responsibility for the security and control of the facility during off-shifts and serve as the Emergency Response Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisor as needed.

If you have...

  • Post-secondary education, with a preference for technical disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve excellent results through operational discipline.
  • In-depth experience in paint processes and manufacturing methodologies.
  • Ability to direct and motivate subordinates within a unionized environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, troubleshooting, and computer-related skills; knowledge of mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Familiarity with legislative and corporate policies, especially in health, safety, and environmental areas.
