DUTIES:
Reporting to the Manager, Process Engineering & Maintenance, this position will directly supervise pollution control mechanical maintenance staff and contractors working in Pollution Control plants, pumping stations and other City facilities as required; supervises staff, conducts performance evaluations, discipline, training and development of maintenance staff, and performs ongoing employee lost time review; responsible for ensuring all appropriate mechanical operating procedures are adhered to with respect to operation and maintenance, to comply with Occupational Health & Safety Act and TSSA requirements; administer preventative maintenance program, maintain records and prepare instructions; ensures efficient and cost effective performance; keeps accurate records to ensure integrity, prepare reports on the operation and maintenance of various facilities; maintain drawings and procedures to ensure they are accurate and up to date; maintains attendance, accident, and other records; ensures staff familiarity and compliance with all provincial safety legislation and corporate safety policies; responsible for specific budget-related tasks; informs the Manager or Senior staff of significant developments; assist in the development of new and replacement equipment specifications; replaces other Supervisors when required; maintains amiable relations with the public and fellow staff.
