About the Role

In the role of a Field Technician within our Building Quality Assurance team, your primary role will be to conduct field inspections and testing for projects related to new construction and existing buildings. You will work in collaboration with other members of the team in support of all ongoing projects, maintaining records, reporting and coordination of tasks. The position will require extensive site visits throughout the Greater Toronto and surrounding areas and you will have an opportunity to make a positive impact in our communities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of our team, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and perform on site window, guard rail systems and membrane testing for new construction and existing buildings;
  • Review and stay up to with testing standards and procedures;
  • Provide assistance to the team in preparation of test reports;
  • Maintain records of testing equipment inventory, coordinate scheduled maintenance and calibration as required;
  • Report daily update on the ongoing testing schedule for all projects;
  • Gather, analyze and report meaningful performance data for various investigations;
  • Drive to various site locations with own or company vehicle;
  • Actively participate and support continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Assist the concrete lab with reporting or supplemental site testing and reviews as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of post-secondary education in related field - Building/Construction Technology, or a construction-related discipline;
  • Experience with field or lab testing of window and railing systems would be considered an asset;
  • Health & Safety training requirements in construction projects would be considered an asset;
  • Strong verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance is required as the position requires field work;
  • Must be able to lift/move heavy equipment;
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
