About the Role

Elevate your career by joining Egis Canada as a Senior Inspector/Office Administrator. This dual-faceted role combines leadership in field inspections with office-based coordination, making it perfect for seasoned professionals who thrive on variety and responsibility. You'll lead engineering inspections on transformative projects, from highway expansions to bridge reconstructions, ensuring these critical infrastructures meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

We are currently looking for experienced Senior Inspectors to work Full Time on a multi-year projects within a 90 minute radius of our Woodbridge head office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead field inspections for complex infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulations.
  • Maintain a pivotal role in project coordination, balancing on-site inspection duties with office-based administrative responsibilities.
  • Guide junior inspectors, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Prepare and review detailed progress reports, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submission to clients.
  • Act as a liaison between contractors, stakeholders, and Egis leadership, addressing challenges proactively.
  • Oversee project milestones, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Support contract administration by verifying quantities, reviewing schedules, and ensuring prompt payment compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or College diploma in Civil / Structural Engineering.
  • 5 years experience in structural, watermain, asphalt and/or grade inspection on road and/or bridge construction projects;
  • Demonstrated experience as a Construction Inspector on at least two (2) previous projects;
  • Registered as EIT, if applicable, or P. Eng. with the PEO or OACETT designation as rcsi; or ability to obtain this designation within 6 months
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and attention to detail skills.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and travel to sire locations within the area.
