JOB DESCRIPTION

This position entails working in the Capital Projects Department at the Woodstock Hospital. As a team member you will help manage and deliver projects for the hospital with diverse scopes of work. This includes putting together scopes of work, maintaining a project budget, and managing the required design and construction work required. In addition to the project management requirements, you will be expected to help the team in the management of the P3 contract for the facility management of the Hospital. The successful candidate should enjoy applying creative, critical thinking skills to solve a variety of unique problems on regular basis. This job will deliver a continuous learning experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES
• Planning and managing small to medium construction projects from:
- Design
- Budget
- Schedule
- Construction
• Completing design work for hospital projects including schematic designs and working drawings.
• Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings and specification for projects.
• Assist in managing our P3 contract and the onsite facility management staff:
- Review Service providers work to ensure they are completed properly and as per the specs.
- Review failures and problems to ensure the root cause is addressed and ensure correct call priorities.
- Help ensure P3 contract compliance.
- Manage the variation process for Projects including tracking dates and times of key deliverables.
- Provide interpretation of construction documentation, including: shop drawings, specifications, design drawing, RFI's, Project Agreement etc., to provide clarity on ownership, obligations and design compliance.

• Assist with projects and subcontractor management at the hospital's medical buildings within budget and schedule.
• Organize and maintain invoices, purchase orders, meeting minutes and maintenance records.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Possess a Diploma or Degree from a recognized Architecture or Engineering or Facilities/Project Management or Business program (applicable work experience in lieu of a degree will also be acceptable).
• 2-to-5-year experience (new graduates are welcome to apply) hospital or contract experience is an asset.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle a complex workload.
• Strong knowledge on project management, building maintenance, mechanical systems, and troubleshooting.
• Superior Interpersonal skills and communication skills in both verbal and written reporting.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to use computer programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
• Knowledge of applicable Building Codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Ability to move materials as needed, ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb a ladder.
