This is technical work related to the inspection and evaluation of components in the repair cycle. A fully trained Detail Inspector will be able to complete to a certain degree, all tasks related to the assessing of components as to their acceptance or disposition for additional work.

Inspection

  • Perform dimensional measurements on components to verify the accuracy of limits and tolerances using a CMM and applicable software.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment as scheduled by the preventative maintenance program.
  • Assisting technicians with work order issues to ensure the components are properly repaired.
  • Edit incorrect work orders and submit changes to engineering for updating.
  • Final acceptance of repaired components for reassembly.
  • Re-identify components to the required part number status as per the DWI requirements.
  • Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspection of individual parts as per inspection level specified in overhaul or maintenance manual, Detailed Work Instruction (DWI) or Engineering Repair Instruction (ERI).
  • Raise repair work orders and select repair schemes for parts being sent for repair at sub-contract or in-house.
  • Confirm Service Bulletin (SB) status of parts in accordance with the DWI. Order new parts as necessary or send existing parts out for rework to new SB status.
  • Perform all other duties as required to ensure departmental efficiencies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the component inspection of Gas Turbine engines.
  • Computer literate, with competency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good visual acuity, be able to meet the minimum eye test requirements as determined by OEM standards.

Working Environment:

An individual in this capacity must be aware that the position will involve:

  • Having sufficient strength to safely maneuver all parts requiring processing (using available hoists, etc,) without risk of personal injury or damage to the parts.
  • Must be able to work occasional overtime, weekend and holiday on-call and shift-work.
  • Must be willing to comply with company established safety regulations and dress code.
  • Must be willing to walk to various areas throughout the facility throughout the day.
