Join us as Fleet Support Specialist, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Brossard, (QC), CA.

Reporting to the Project Engineering Maintenance Manager, the Fleet Support Specialist role is to ensure that Alstom as a maintainer and our customer as an operator are well supported with regards to rolling stock availability.

The Fleet Support Specialist will also act as Alstom's representative in the customers facilities and will assist the various internal teams on topics related to maintenance, technical issues and on-site coordination of project-related activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Based in OCC (Operation Control Center), coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor in charge, the intervention to be done following a service failure.
  • Document all failures and ensure service notifications are properly filled.
  • Provide regular updates on fleet status throughout the day.
  • Provide guidance to intervention agents on rolling stock related technical issues in real time.
  • In a preventive manner using available real-time asset condition monitoring or in the event of a service incident, provide technical advice to the operator to minimize delay minutes in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate and provide operational support for service related incidents.
  • Coordinate train movements with the operator to maximize efficiency for corrective interventions.
  • Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all train systems.
  • Using all the available business tools, collate and analyze data from system downloads to report on existing defects, failures, or anomalies to provide the appropriate corrective actions.
  • Contribute on improving/sustaining reliability performance of the Rolling Stock, doing background analysis of all data collected.
  • Prepare and lead the failure review board on a daily basis.
  • Be aware of and support, when required, corporate problem-solving tools e.g., 8D, PDCA etc.
  • Ensure work is performed in a safe and professional manner in accordance with the Health & Safety regulations.
  • Analyze, filter and dispatch the failure notifications generated by the Operator.
  • Support the maintenance planner and supervisor to allocate estimated intervention time.
  • Provide shopfloor assistance for engineering activities and investigations.
  • At least once a week, assist maintenance troubleshooting activities physically on trains.

REQUIRED PROFILE:

  • Experience in the Rail industry with a maintenance background.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • French is the main language for this position. English may be required for certain tasks.
  • Excellent knowledge of transit workshops and operating environment with respect to processes, procedures, and safety.
  • Good knowledge in the following areas: electromechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Capable of reading mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Capable of analyzing system logs
  • Be autonomous and demonstrate strong leadership assets.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and good communications skills in English.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is essential.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance Management systems such as SAP and/or Maximo
  • Shall be flexible to support work shifts between 5am and 1am from Monday to Sunday.
  • No work from home possible
