Tasks
Technical Aspects:
Design, draft, and analyze roof truss structures for Canada and the U.S., including pitched trusses, in 3D, incorporating elements such as slopes, dormers, and ceilings.
Position master trusses and beams on buildings, while conducting load analysis and structural element assessment using calculation software (Mitek).
Prepare, verify, and validate preliminary and final plans (layout), draft assembly plans (AutoCAD), and coordinate various sectors (walls, floors, etc.) for optimal production.
Conduct specific load analysis for commercial and agricultural projects, including calculations for brackets, anti-lift, and horizontal thrust.
Collaborate with clients to validate project stages, obtain necessary approvals, and ensure thorough follow-up.
Collaboration and Technical Support:
Provide technical support to representatives for project estimates and recommendations, and participate in client meetings as needed.
Work closely with different departments and sites to promote teamwork and maintain harmonious relationships.
Contribute to continuous process improvement by supporting the director in specific mandates and collaborating actively with the team.
Training and Technical Expertise:
Train new technicians, serve as a resource person, and be a technical reference for junior technicians, the factory, and CAD software optimization.
Maintain quality relationships with internal and external clients to provide exceptional service, while archiving and organizing documents according to company procedures.
Perform other related tasks as required.

Job requirements
Vocational diploma (DEP) in building drafting, or college diploma (DEC) in architecture, or equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the field (construction, architecture, structural).
Proficiency in reading plans.
Proficiency with computer tools (MS Office Suite, Computer-Aided Design).
Knowledge of building codes is an asset.
Proficiency in 3D visualization.
