At SMS Equipment, the Warranty Administrator will be responsible for managing warranty claims according to product support procedures in compliance with our quality system. The schedule for this position is 5x2.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage claims files
  • Analyze warranty claim work orders and produce claims according to manufacturers' deadlines
  • Produce complete files and submit claims to manufacturers
  • Analyze and respond to warranty requests from internal and external customers according to company procedures and policies.
  • Update manufacturers' modification programs (Factory Campaigns)
  • Assist managers in analyzing warranty support requests outside warranty periods.
  • Follow up on claims while analyzing manufacturers' refusals and/or partial credits.
  • Follow-up on claims rejected by suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Assist the Technical Department
  • Comply with company health and safety regulations.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements :

  • Bilingual, written and spoken. 90% of work must be produced in English (American manufacturers).
  • Very good knowledge of the Internet, be able to do research on different manufacturers' sites.
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Adobe PDF
  • Comfortable working on different
  • Comfortable working with different databases
  • Analytical thinking, excellent customer service skills
  • Team player, ability to set priorities
  • DES or DEP in administration, or equivalent experience deemed relevant
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a similar position in the heavy equipment or related field would be an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude would be an asset.
