An overview of your future role at BBA

By joining our team, you'll be asked to help with the various stages of power system studies in the renewable energy, mining and heavy industry markets.

As Department Manager, Power Systems and Automation, you'll help achieve our strategic objectives and work with our teams across Canada. You'll be responsible for managing the department's human, financial and material resources and overseeing the progress of activities to achieve operational efficiency objectives.

An overview of your mandates and responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise consulting services for power system studies (short-circuit, power flow, protection coordination, arc-flash hazards, harmonics, transients, modelling, insulation coordination) and all other types of studies related to industrial and public systems.
  • Develop department members' technical skills (training, work methods, etc.) and actively participate in recruiting and hiring of qualified personnel to achieve BBA's strategic objectives.
  • Develop relationships with clients and prepare competitive proposals.
  • Actively participate in projects in your field of expertise as a technical contributor or project manager.
  • Monitor and assess employees under your supervision.
  • Work with the internal Innovation and Practice teams to increase department efficiency and ensure a structured approach to project delivery.

Overview of job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • Ten or more years of relevant experience in power systems and MV and HV apparatus
  • Intermediate knowledge of testing at clients sites
  • General knowledge of power system software (e.g., ETAP, EMTP-RV, CYME)
  • Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written, and ability to draft technical documents in both languages
