Your future role on our team

Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Department Manager, IT Applications is responsible for growing and leading the teams that oversee applications within BBA's IT department. Our rapid growth means we're looking to recruit a passionate, innovative and experienced professional with outstanding team spirit.

You'll be called upon to provide advice in decision-making when selecting, integrating, operating and using all corporate applications. You'll work closely with your colleagues in the Infrastructure and Operations group as well as the IT Service Centre.


Main duties:

  • Supervise the work of all applications teams.
  • Establish, lead and execute all application initiatives and monitor progress.
  • Define the scope and cost estimates for the required work and project deadlines for internal clients in specific areas, including:
    • Operations
    • Finance
    • Business Development
    • Human Resources
    • Project Management
  • Lead application-related services by managing the corporate application portfolio (licences, contract renewals, versions and rollouts):
    • corporate solutions (document management systems, resource planning systems, training management systems, applicant tracking systems, and more)
    • data integration and business intelligence services
    • productivity and digital work environment tools (Microsoft 365, Citrix, Teams, OneDrive)
    • application integration and development
  • Share your knowledge and experience with others.
  • Promote collaboration and innovation by keeping up to date with new trends in workplace technologies.
  • Oversee the implementation of the DevOps methodology within the various product teams.
  • Establish relevant performance indicators and use them to monitor and optimize work.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, information management or other relevant field, or equivalent work experience
  • Five to eight years of work experience, preferably in business or IT management and, ideally, a combination of both
  • Three to five years of experience in team management
  • Ability to promote innovation programs as a catalyst for organizational change
  • Ability to travel to work at other BBA offices
  • Asset: knowledge of cloud computing
  • Asset: knowledge of an ERP system (Deltek Maconomy, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Asset: knowledge of the concept of data warehousing and business intelligence
  • Asset: solid network of application suppliers
