Rogers is seeking a Civil Engineering Specialist reporting to the Manger, Equipment & Civil Engineering . This position is based out of our Montreal campus with travel to other Montreal offices as required. The Civil specialist will be accountable for the structural integrity of tower and rooftops for new loading added based on major programs, they will work with a team of engineering specialist to deliver on aggressive timelines and provide technical support to internal/external teams . The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and technical acumen to drives results and have the ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.

Who we're looking for:

  • Engaged Engineering consultants to complete site audits, Engineering Structural Analysis and Engineering Drawings for Capital augmentation work
  • Review and approve site audits, Structural Analysis and Engineering Drawings based on Rogers Planning, Radio Engineering, Microwave and Equipment Engineering requirements.
  • Create Engineering Work Orders for base station facilities, enclosures, power systems, environmental systems, antenna support system and towers for capital build programs.
  • Ensure Base Station infrastructure safety and compliance to all applicable codes and standards and to Rogers Health and Safety standards
  • Review and update Real Estate Work Orders from Radio System Engineering and Microwave Engineering with Civil Engineering requirements and distribute to NI Real Estate Regionally.
  • Support for Field Operations, Network Implementation, Radio Engineering, Transmission, and Equipment Engineering as needed for resolution of civil infrastructure issues
  • Enforce Engineering Guidelines and Network Standards for Base Station facilities enclosures, power systems, environmental systems, antenna supporting structures and towers
  • Engineering support for 3rd party incoming co-locates on Rogers owned towers
  • Perform other duties as required consistent with the principle objectives of the position.

What you bring:

  • Able to speak English and French
  • Tertiary qualifications in civil construction or maintenance.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated technical competence in the construction and maintenance of Local Government engineering infrastructure including site survey and set out, plan reading and specifications.
  • Ability to work in a team-based situation.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines to deliver identified outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills required for negotiating, mediating, facilitating and gaining cooperation from others with demonstrated ability to resolve conflict.
  • Demonstrated skills in conducting public meetings and community consultation with a strong customer/community service focus.
  • Civil Engineering Degree an asset
  • Professional Engineering accreditation an asset
  • A working knowledge in the operation of computer software relevant to the position
