Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of a new functional branch in Corporate Real Estate (CRE). Coming out of the pandemic, not only have our attitudes about work changed, but our workplaces and our technologies are evolving at a rapid pace! The technology solutions in CRE are increasingly touching user experience. Following 6 years of using a Technology RoadMap to prioritize investment in our technologies, our processes have matured to the point where centralized tool administration and building bench strength in both technology systems and data analytics are also fundamental requirements to supporting our business. Building a new organization where one did not exist before will require an agile, iterative approach, but will provide payback by offering unique opportunities to collaborate on and influence the development of the organization.

Job description

Reporting to the Manager, CRE Data & Analytics the successful incumbent will be responsible for completion of regularly recurring reporting, scorecards, and dashboards. In addition, the Analyst will prioritize and tackle key business problems taking steps to specify requirements, gather data, examine underlying assumptions, and propose measures or analytics to address the concern. The Data & Analytics team will take an agile approach to prioritizing and developing responses to meet the requested needs. Analytics scope to include data mining, calculations, reports (both tabular and graphical visualizations), scorecards, interactive dashboards, and written comment related to interpretation, assumptions, and insights.

Technology Analysts will regularly produce metrics, trending and reports related to; space, occupancy, utilization, service tickets, project management, sustainability and CRE business operational health; and conduct consultation with CRE peers on emerging needs related to limited time improvement monitoring measures and business case value propositions. Analysts may periodically be asked to connect with partner analytics operations for discovery sessions to understand where linkages between data sets might offer opportunity for deeper insights.

What will you do?

  • Data mining and analysis of occupancy, space, utilization, maintenance, project and portfolio performance, and sustainability, interpreting and communicating results into meaningful performance and progress indicators.

  • Contribute to and complete to regular reporting, scorecards, and dashboards (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc requests)

  • Provides consultative guidance to other teams in consideration of data requirements in the development or change of analytics/measures for on-going monitoring and development of recommendations.

  • Evaluates work methods and processes, measuring against internal and external benchmarks and standards of excellence.

  • Identifies and critically examines the accuracy of underlying assumptions.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.

  • College Diploma / bachelor's degree in business, Data Analytics, Architecture Project and Facility Management or related field.

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

  • Proficiency with MS Office programs, with advanced excel skills (macros, pivot, data tables, visual basic analysis, advanced formulas, and functions).

  • Conceptional knowledge of relational databases and experience with data management.

  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (Tableau, SQL, Service Now, FM Systems Dashboard, One Model, etc.) and a solid understanding of the best practices around dashboard and visual perception.

  • Familiarity with KPIs, OKRs, SLAs and measuring metrics helpful.

  • Experience with existing and emerging tools (including but not limited to Jira, Confluence, Changepoint, SharePoint, Athena, Miro)

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated experience applying your analytical skills to contribute to projects or programs which have had a proven impact on business performance and process

  • Strategic thinker with proven success influencing peers and stakeholders through strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong research skills. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Lean six sigma and agile scrum experience assets.

  • Ability to distill down high-quality analysis of large sets of qualitative and quantitative data into simple and actionable key insights tailored to various audiences.

  • Outcome focused, enthusiastic and self-motivated with fierce curiosity and a keen sense of organization, ownership, and accountability.

  • Adaptable with a desire to work both independently and cooperatively.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
