Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Occupational Health Services position in Montreal, QC from May - Aug 2025.

Job Summary

The Intern, Occupational Health Services is responsible for assisting the Disability Management team within the Occupational Health Service (OHS) department to support initiatives that help employees with disabilities stay at work or return to work after illness or injury. The role involves learning about workplace accommodations, health and safety regulations, and the intersection of healthcare and employee rights.

Major Responsibilities

  • Handle administrative duties related to scheduling pre-employment medical examinations with an external provider and ensure timely receipt of completed reports, escalating issues when necessary
  • Collaborate with the OHS coordinator to pull data and manage confidential medical records
  • Coordinate updates regarding claims and disability cases with the insurance provider
  • Oversee the OHS general inbox to triage and distribute incoming OHS workload to the assigned nurse case manager

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • A strong interest in workplace health, disability management, and employee well-being

Education

  • Currently enrollment in or a recent graduate of a Degree in Occupational Health, Human Resources, Healthcare Management, or related fields
