Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Planning and Delivery Service position in Montreal, QC from May - Aug 2025.
Job Summary
The Intern, Planning and Delivery Service is involved in analyzing and planning technology investments for infrastructure, telecom, and data portfolios. The role is exposed to the fundamental workings of the railroad and the key function required to make investment decisions. The incumbent participates in project management best practices and project delivery. Furthermore, the role is performed within a team of experienced thought leaders and passionate professionals that solve exciting enterprise challenges in a fun and collaborative atmosphere. The exceptional breadth of exposure to numerous opportunities from "classic" mainframe systems to the bleeding edge of distributed Artificial Intelligence (AI), from telecom to finance and everything in between provides a unique opportunity to understand the workings of a large supply chain enabler.
Major Responsibilities
· Learn the key elements of railroading
· Participate in the preparation, consolidation of capital and operating planning process capital
· Participate to financial recommendations for the portfolios such as budget trade offs and financial strategies
· Provide a monthly view of the portfolios to leadership
· Contribute to the evolution of portfolio and project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
· Develop communication content on the processes and financial guidelines of the portfolio
· Shadow Projects Managers to experience an idea through its full lifecycle (e.g., budget planning, scope definition, project plan, timeline and resource plans)
