Job Summary:

This role focuses on achieving Standards' strategy and long-term objectives, promoting access, knowledge, and application of standards through leadership, development and deployment of high-quality standards, solutions and services. This role leads and oversees the editorial and production functions for CSA Group, in support of the authoring, publications and maintenance of standards-related product content. This role works closely with the Standards Development teams and other functions to optimize the innovation, delivery and maintenance of publishing products and services.

This role is responsible for

  • Overseeing editing and production of standards and standards related products
  • Providing leadership in authoring, publishing, improving and maintaining standards related content
  • Ensuring time, cost, and quality targets are met
  • Managing and optimizing editorial and production processes
  • Overseeing team resources, costs and budget
  • Assessing new opportunities and industry-leading approaches
  • Engaging and building strategic relationships with external groups and other standards development organizations
  • Leveraging the latest digital technologies and innovation
  • Incorporating and implementing accessibility, diversity and inclusion strategies
  • Working closely with Standards Development teams and other functions to advance standards activities (standards metrics and strategies)

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate University degree in Business or related field
  • Master's Degree or MBA an asset
  • Minimum of 10 years of related publishing experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of people management experience; experience with a unionized environment an asset
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize conflicting objectives and make decisions with incomplete/partial information
  • Strong business, research, and analytical skills
  • Flexibility to meet shifting deadlines, priorities, and market needs
  • Problem solving aptitude to resolve customer/member issues
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • Strong leadership, strategic, organizational and planning skills
  • Strong oral and written communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingualism (English/French) and knowledge of national and international standards industry would be a definite asset
