Your future role on our team

By joining our team as an intermediate engineer, you'll serve as a technical leader for engineering mandates in automation, instrumentation and control. You'll also take on a leadership role on the team in various phases of engineering and site work. You'll help prepare proposals, select technologies and propose solutions to clients. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to actively participate in business development.

  • Prepare material lists and bills of materials according to codes, standards, drawings and other established procedures in accordance with BBA's quality system requirements.
  • Revise analyses and deliverables produced by junior engineers, technicians and drafters.
  • Perform technical surveys.
  • Plan, organize and determine client needs for new facilities or expansion projects.
  • Provide technical assistance at project start-up and after delivery.
  • Participate in site testing.
  • Take on the responsibilities of a project manager, which includes ensuring that all assigned deliverables are produced in accordance with quality requirements and are on time and on budget.
  • Maintain synergy with the project team.
  • Interact with clients and participate in business development.
  • Have a good network of industry contacts.
  • Establish and maintain contact with clients.
  • Define client needs and target new needs during projects.
  • Serve as leader when preparing technical and commercial proposals.

Overview of certifications and job requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in automated production engineering, electrical engineering or other relevant training
  • From 7 to 12 years of relevant experience
  • Member of a Canadian professional engineering association
  • Practical experience in instrumentation and control design (design criteria, network architecture, instrument selection, etc.)
  • Relevant experience in developing and programming control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS)
  • Site experience and a focus on occupational safety
  • Experience with system troubleshooting, commissioning and implementation
  • Interest or relevant experience in automation and instrumentation
  • Available to travel to and from our BBA offices in the Greater Montréal area
  • Available for short- and long-term work assignments at client locations or sites
  • Bilingual (English and French) and strong skills in drafting reports
