Join BBA and make the most of your experience by actively contributing to the various stages of major engineering projects, from the earliest stages of the business relationship to onsite equipment commissioning. You'll be using your leadership skills every day, whether it's to develop trusting relationships with our partners, train the next generation or manage a passionate team on projects. This role will give you the opportunity to take the lead, while also being in the thick of the action by working closely with talented people. You'll be responsible for preparing and executing safe and efficient commissioning activities and plant operations.

  • Determine organizational and work force requirements (expatriates, local and subcontracted personnel) to meet facility objectives.
  • Develop the commissioning and startup plan documentation.
  • Develop the commissioning and start-up schedule, as per project completion schedules, working closely with the project team.
  • Direct the pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup activities at the work site.
  • Direct the BBA team, client personnel and subcontractor assigned to the project commissioning team.
  • Identify supplier support needs for process equipment commissioning.
  • Review test procedures from suppliers and ensure proper completion.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Quality, Safety and the Owner's designated representatives, as required.
  • Implement procedures to deliver overall facility safety and that of its personnel.
  • Assist the engineering and expert teams with troubleshooting.
  • Help the client identify operational readiness tasks and documentation for plant operation.
  • Provide feedback and optimization recommendations to the engineering team and client.




Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and member in good standing with the OIQ
  • Knowledge of process systems
  • A strong commissioning or construction background
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, which include the ability to lead, direct, motivate and supervise team members
  • Effective soft, organizational, communication and client service skills
  • Ability to think strategically, troubleshoot and multi-task
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Willingness to work in remote locations
