An overview of your future role at BBA

We're looking for a department manager for the Procurement team to help shape the national strategy of our Project Management Office (PMO). In this dynamic role, you'll need to be comfortable working in a consulting environment, leading the team and managing activities to support the expanding procurement needs of our partners and our mining and industrial clients.

An overview of your mandates and responsibilities

  • Coordinate, oversee and plan procurement consulting services
  • Strengthen the team's technical skills through training, work methods, etc., and participate actively in recruiting and hiring qualified personnel to achieve the department's financial and operational objectives
  • Actively participate in project delivery within your expertise as a technical contributor or project manager
  • Monitor and assess employees under your supervision
  • Work with the internal Innovation and Practice teams to streamline department efficiency and ensure a structured approach to project delivery
  • Keep updated on availability and capacity of key industry suppliers
  • Meet with sales representatives and analyze market trends and indicators that may influence project costs and schedules for purchased goods and services
  • Coordinate major procurement strategies and evaluate supplier performance on an ongoing basis
  • Lead the bidding process and prepare required documents
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key suppliers
  • Apply strategies to reduce costs and mitigate procurement risks
  • Ensure compliance with local and international procurement regulations
  • Work closely with engineering and other PMO teams
  • Manage the ongoing improvement of procurement, recovery and logistical methods, tools, procedures and systems

Overview of job requirements

  • An advanced graduate diploma or certificate in supply chain management, a DCS or bachelor's degree in engineering, a DCS or bachelor's degree in administration
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering environment or any other equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Experience in the heavy industry, mining and metals or energy sectors
  • Expertise in contract negotiation and strategic supplier relationship management
  • Excellent project management and cost analysis skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite
  • Asset: bilingual (English and French)
  • Asset: experience in international project procurement
  • Asset: experience with logistics
