Your future role on our team

We're looking for an experienced electrical protection engineer to join our dynamic team. You'll be responsible for designing, analyzing and optimizing protection and control systems for various power systems in institutional, industrial and mining projects. You'll also contribute to specialized mandates, particularly arc-flash risk analysis, ensuring the safety and compliance of complex electrical systems. You'll play a key role in managing projects, coordinating with clients and mentoring junior engineers.

  • Develop and optimize protection strategies for high-, medium- and low-voltage electrical systems
  • Perform protection settings calculations
  • Design and review protection and control schematics to ensure the safety and reliability of electrical installations
  • Carry out arc-flash studies and propose solutions to minimize risks to operators and equipment
  • Provide mentoring and technical coaching to junior and intermediate engineers
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials on best practices in electrical protection and safety
  • Help commission and test protection systems on site
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and standards (CSA, IEEE, IEC, etc.)
  • Provide technical expertise and serve as an advisor to clients on complex projects
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations for improving existing systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate activities with other departments

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • University degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized university
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • At least seven years of relevant experience in electrical system protection and control
  • Proficiency in simulation and analysis software (ETAP, EasyPower, etc.)
  • Desire to mentor less experienced colleagues
  • In-depth knowledge of protective relays and related protective equipment
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within deadlines
  • Available for occasional travel, based on project needs
  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Asset: experience in the industrial or mining sector
  • Asset: knowledge of communication protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, etc.)
