An overview of your future role at BBA

As part of Hydro-Québec's substation projects, you'll be required to:

  • Serve in various roles, including team leader, project leader and proposal leader.
  • Design protection panels (control and wiring diagrams).
  • Draft installation specifications and lists of equipment, cables and interconnections.
  • Participate in site surveys.
  • Coordinate work with managers from other disciplines.
  • Participate in automation start-up activities.

As team leader, you'll be required to:

  • Manage the team effectively and create a climate that fosters motivation and recognition.
  • Regularly communicate with team members, regardless of where they work.
  • Help ensure quality relationships among team members, disciplines and project management.
  • Promote quality by applying the quality management system and using BBA's tools and work methods.
  • Onboard new resources as well as coach, advise, guide and support team members.
  • Plan, carry out and follow up on employee evaluation or development meetings, including defining performance objectives.
  • Provide feedback to employees on your team.
  • Ensure the firm's policies and internal programs are applied.

Together with the department manager, help:

  • manage personnel, more specifically by monitoring team work planning.
  • identify skills development and training needs.
  • evaluate and monitor career plans.
  • help with the hiring process.
  • identify and resolve performance or behavioural issues, if any.
  • monitor productivity.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • University degree in engineering
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • More than eight years of experience in control and protection projects at Hydro-Québec
  • Knowledge of E3.series design software
  • Experience managing a team (of two to five resources)
  • Willingness to take the "From Professional to Manager" training offered by the HR department (after starting the position)
  • Available for short- and long-term work assignments at client sites in Canada
  • Bilingual (English and French)
