Electrical Technician

Tasks

• Following approved procedures and standards while maintaining, inspecting, installing and repairing electrical circuits required for the proper functioning of machines, equipment, and electrically powered systems, as well as electrical motors, lighting systems, and electrical installations in the building.
• Ensuring the maintenance, installation, repair, verification, modification, and calibration of electrical and electronic equipment, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic instrumentation.
• Updating diagrams and manufacturing or installation plans for electrical and electronic control systems, and if necessary, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
• Troubleshooting production equipment, laboratory devices, process instruments and other devices.
• Managing the maintenance of currently used computer programs, with a particular focus on programmable logic controllers.
• Contributing to the improvement of production equipment control systems and quality control devices by performing checks, maintenance, and repairs.
• Contributing to the design of new projects requiring electrical and/or automated equipment.
• Procuring, as needed, the materials required for the installation and repair of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrumentation equipment.
• Moving equipment and materials manually or with forklifts, trucks, mechanical levers, winches, or roller carts.
• Immediately reporting any material, tool, or equipment anomalies or malfunctions to your supervisor.
• Participating in the development of equipment commissioning procedures in collaboration with different departments.
• Performing any tasks related to the position.

Job requirements

• Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in Electrodynamics or Instrumentation and Control.
• Class C driver's licence.
• Good computer knowledge.
• Driver's licence and access to a car.
• Comfortable with written and spoken French.
