Shop mechanic

SMS Equipment is growing ! We are looking for a Shop Mechanic to join our team! In this role you will find solutions, make safety a priority and work with the largest, most advanced earthmoving equipment. This role is located in St-Augustin.

The shift for this role is 5x2.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Determine the nature of the repairs and the time required to repair and repair faults.
• Order parts required for repairs.
• Adjust, repair and/or replace defective parts using hand or power tools.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure that it works and that repairs comply with manufacturer's requirements.
• Clean and lubricate equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Carry out tasks assigned by the group leader and/or workshop supervisor.
• Respect established repair times.
• Work in a safe manner.
• Clean work area and maintain workshop equipment in good condition.
• Complete required documents such as time sheets, warranty reports, etc. on a daily basis.
• Store tools supplied by SMS in their respective locations.
• Perform any other related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications :

The successful candidate will possess a Heavy Equipment Technician Certification. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Other requirements include :

• DEP in heavy equipment or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in construction equipment mechanics.
• Knowledge of Komatsu products an asset.
• Autonomous
• Good team spirit and ability to detect defects.
• Customer service oriented.
